Community Investment
The purpose of PTI Group’s Community Investment Program is to contribute to the quality of life in the communities in which we work and live. We fundamentally believe that we have a responsibility as a good corporate citizen to be proactively involved in making a difference in the community in a meaningful way.
Current Focus of Support
Like most companies or foundations, PTI receives many more requests than we can fund. As our resources are limited, we must make choices about how to allocate them. The most fundamental choice we have made is to concentrate the majority of our giving in areas where we believe our support can make a meaningful difference. We also concentrate on a limited number of "focus areas" of support each year.
Currently, PTI's focus areas include:
- Food Programs
- Low Income Housing initiatives and
- Youth Programs
Guidelines for Support & Eligibility
PTI Group generally does not make contributions to the following applicants or for the purposes or benefit of those listed below:
- Individuals, including PTI Group employees, friends or relatives.
- Political or labour organizations.
- Religious activities or programs that serve, or appear to serve, specific religious groups or denominations. However, if a proposal submitted by a church-based or similar organization falls clearly within program guidelines and is intended to serve as broad a segment of the population as the program of a comparable non-religious organization, we will consider the proposal on the same basis as others.
- Adult recreational or athletic teams, or youth travel teams.
- Requests by United Way agencies outside the annual United Way campaign.
- PTI Group will not fund any organization that discriminates for any reason, including race, religion, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation and national origin.
