Partnerships
There are several ways that our partnerships positively contribute to local communities, creating tangible benefits for the community and its people:
Employment
We offer career opportunities in over 20 different job classifications, ranging from electricians to chefs to camp managers. Our recruitment program is comprehensive, providing opportunity for stability, growth and advancement.
Training Programs
We deliver valuable skills-based programs to our employees in areas such as equipment handling and safety, including specialized programs where applicable. Our apprenticeship programs provide hands-on, transferable skill sets to our employees.
New Business Opportunities
Where possible, we work with local suppliers, contractors and other related businesses, thus creating spin-off opportunities in the communities in which we operate.
Responsible Environmental Practices
We actively consult with local stakeholder groups to ensure we are honouring the community’s best interests, often setting the standard for environmental protection in our industry.
Sponsorship & Community Investment Activities
We support causes that are of concern and interest to the communities in which we operate, including those related to the youth, education and community well-being.
Aboriginal Partnerships
We are particularly proud of our reputation as the number one private sector contractor of Northern and Aboriginal workers in our industry. In Canada, PTI has entered into over 20 successful joint ventures with a wide spectrum of partners in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, northern Alberta, and northern British Columbia. The goal for all of PTI’s Aboriginal joint ventures is to work toward one hundred percent Aboriginal involvement. As such, PTI gives priority to hiring Aboriginals and Northerners, contacting all band-based employment offices and other related employment agencies in the area to ensure that all locals have the opportunity to apply.
